The Regret of an Unborn Child
Many years ago a man sat under a tree with regret and tearing eyes, reflecting on the countless “NOs!” he had said to himself, all for the pursuit of achievement comes first.
This man was golden in his days. He had the opportunity to choose the right woman among those he encountered, someone who would have been happy to join him on his journey.
As he reflected on how he had spent his days solely focused on achieving success, of which he did. He came to a realization: true success is enjoyable when one has a loving family.
This man was bitter. He couldn't bear the thought of not having a family of his own, nor experiencing the joy of hearing children play or call him "Dad."
In that moment, he took out his pen and wrote a quick later:
Dear unborn child,
I am sorry for not giving you life when i had the chance, and i am sorry for not bringing myself down to create a family of my own. I regret my decision, for I know if I had taken a moment to pursue in life.
You will definitely be alive and that will of course make me a father which will bring me more joy than anything now.
I take full responsibility for the choices that led me to this place of endless regret.
I think I finally understand now, but I guess it took me a long time.
My Unborn Child, I may not be in the position to call myself father. But heaven knows how sorry I am for my decision which brought me to the mountain edge.
And to your mother whoever she may be, I am sorry for making you get married to the man you might have not fallen in love with deep down.
My Unborn Child I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me for my decision.
These were his heartfelt words.
In the world where success is a must to achieve, some of us often forget about our personal life and focus more on goal achievement, and we become blended by our ambition, missing out on the joys life has to offer.
Let us not allow our minds to be clouded by these fogs, making our emotions to be one sided, preventing us from thinking of building our own family while in the long run for attaining success, achievement, and whatever goals we have in mind.
May we realize this before it's too late, for I share with you a true story of those who have fallen victim to their own desires for success.
In our pursuit for success, let us remember to plan for a family and avoid the path of regret that this man experienced, as time is inevitable.
